Key Details of Package C4A Contract
In July 2024, K-RIDE floated tenders for Package C4A with an estimated budget of Rs. 504.11 crore and a project deadline of two years. The technical bids were opened in September to assess the companies competing for the contract. Here’s the financial outcome:
Firm | Bid Value (INR) |

RVNL–Rithwik JV | 613.00 Crore |
NCC Ltd. | 627.35 Crore |
With RVNL–Rithwik JV emerging as the lowest bidder, they secured the contract for this critical segment of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail network.
Scope of Work for Bengaluru Suburban Rail’s Package C4A
The scope of work for this package covers the construction of nine stations along Line 4. This line will include one elevated station and eight at-grade (ground level) stations. In addition to station construction, the project will involve electrical and mechanical (E&M) installations, pre-engineered building (PEB) roofs, and architectural finishes for the stations.
Stations on Kanaka Line (Line 4):
- Heelalige
- Singena Agrahara
- Huskur
- Ambedkar Nagar
- Carmelaram
- Bellandur
- Marathahalli
- Doddanakundi
- Kaggadasapura
These stations will form a key part of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail, enhancing connectivity along the Kanaka Line between Heelalige and Rajanukunte.
Bengaluru Suburban Rail’s Integration with Metro
The Bengaluru Suburban Rail’s Line 4 will intersect with Bangalore Metro’s Blue Line, covering approximately 500 meters of shared alignment between Benniganahalli and Channasandra. This overlap with the Blue Line, part of Bangalore Metro’s Phase 2B project, will facilitate easier transfers for passengers traveling on both networks.
The Bengaluru Suburban Rail project is a significant development for the city, aiming to reduce road congestion and provide a convenient commuting option for thousands of daily travelers. With the awarding of Package C4A to RVNL–Rithwik JV, the Kanaka Line (Line 4) will continue progressing towards completion, marking an important milestone in Bengaluru’s suburban rail network expansion.
