On November 7, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, accompanied by Bengaluru South MP, MLAs, and other officials, traveled on the new section. They inspected the 3.7 km extension, which connects Nagasandra to Madavara (BIEC) and adds three stations to the Green Line. This extension aims to make travel more accessible and convenient for passengers commuting within the city.

Extension Overview

The Nagasandra-Madavara extension of the Bangalore Metro Green Line spans 3.7 kilometers and was constructed with an investment of approximately ₹298 crore. This section includes three new stations designed to serve commuters heading toward the Bangalore International Exhibition Center (BIEC).

Stations on the New Extension

The three new stations on the Nagasandra-Madavara stretch include:

  • Manjunath Nagar
  • Chikkabidarakallu (formerly known as Jindal Nagar)
  • Madavara (BIEC)

These stations are expected to ease access for residents in the northwest region of Bangalore and improve connectivity to the BIEC, a key event and exhibition center in the city.

Key Operational Details of the Green Line Extension

According to a release from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), passenger services on this new stretch began on November 7. Here are some key operational details for travelers:

  • Service Timings: The first train on this new section departs from Madavara at 5:00 AM, and the last train leaves at 11:00 PM.
  • Travel Time: The travel time on the Nagasandra to Madavara section is around 10 minutes.
  • Effect on Other Green Line Operations: The new extension operates independently, ensuring that it does not interfere with the existing service on other parts of the Green Line.
