KPC Projects Ltd. and URC Construction Pvt. Ltd. are the two bidders competing for the construction of the Soladevanahalli Depot under the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP). Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company (K-RIDE) opened technical bids for the project earlier this week.

Purpose of the Soladevanahalli Depot

The Soladevanahalli Depot will support operations on the 24.866 km Corridor 2, also known as the Mallige Line. This line connects Baiyyappanahalli Terminal to Chikkabanavara through 14 stations. The depot will serve as a facility for stabling and maintaining the trains operating on this route.

In addition to Soladevanahalli, another depot at Akkupet (Devanahalli) will accommodate the project’s fleet, consisting of 51 trains with a total of 306 coaches.

The project scope includes constructing a 1 km at-grade section between Chikkabanavara Station and the Soladevanahalli Depot.
