STN: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced tenders for the construction of a key section on the Delhi Metro Saket-Lajpat Nagar Line. This stretch spans 8.385 km and is a part of the Golden Line under Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro network. The project, approved by the Central Government in early 2024, aims to improve connectivity across the city.

Details of the Saket-Lajpat Nagar Line

The Delhi Metro Saket-Lajpat Nagar Line will be constructed in phases. The current focus is on the D2-C02 package, which involves the following tasks:

  • Building a 7.298 km viaduct (from chainage 1202.782m to 8501.25m).
  • Constructing platforms for seven elevated stations, including Pushp Vihar, Saket District Court, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, GK-1, Andrews Ganj, and Lajpat Nagar.

The concourse areas for these stations will be developed separately and will be located close to the platforms. Most stations, except Pushp Vihar, will feature platforms designed for three-coach trains. Pushp Vihar will have longer platforms to accommodate future expansions.
