Bhopal Metro MD Inspects AIIMS–D.R.M Orange Line Section

STN: On 2 August 2025, the Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, S. Krishna Chaitanya, inspected the Bhopal Metro route from AIIMS to D.R.M. Station. He checked station entry and exit points, the system room, and the control room. He also gave instructions to ensure the work finishes on time.

Earlier Depot Inspection

On 31 July, S. Krishna Chaitanya visited the Bhopal Metro Depot at Subhash Nagar. He reviewed the remaining work and stressed the need to complete it quickly. His focus was on making sure metro train operations start smoothly once the system is ready.

Bhopal Metro Phase 1

Phase 1 of the metro will have two corridors with a total of 28 stations. It is planned to be operational by 2027. The total project cost is estimated at ₹6,941.40 crore.

Project Progress

Work on the Bhopal Metro Rail Project is moving quickly. Recently, the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) completed oscillation and emergency braking distance trials for the metro’s rolling stock. The trains are being supplied by Alstom India.

Focus on Timely Completion

The inspections by the MD highlight the priority given to meeting deadlines. Station facilities, control systems, and depots are all being prepared to ensure passenger safety and smooth operations. Once completed, metro will connect key areas of the city and reduce travel time.
