IRB Infrastructure’s Developer Arm Secures Major Deal with NHAI Through Concession Agreement Execution

STN: IRB Infrastructure Developers has announced that its subsidiary, Samakhiyali Tollway Private Ltd, has signed a concession agreement with NHAI for the Samakhiyali Santalpur Build, Operate, Transfer (BOT) project in Gujarat, India. The six-lane project covers a stretch of 90.90 kilometers on NH27 and is estimated to cost Rs 2,132 crore.

The project has a concession period of 20 years from the appointed date, which includes two years of construction. IRB is known for being an integrated infrastructure player in the highways segment with an asset base of over Rs 70,000 crore in 11 states across the parent company and two investment trusts.

The company is optimistic about the project’s potential. Given its strategic location, the Samakhiyali Santalpur project is expected to provide a boost to trade and commerce in the area, and it will also contribute to better trade ties between Indian states.

Additionally, strengthened infrastructure in the area can have a further cascading impact, creating opportunities for ancillary businesses to flourish.
