STN: Citizens aged above 65 years, ‘divyang’ (disabled) persons, and students up to Class 12 have started availing of a 25 percent concession in the fares of Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7. Eknath Shinde, the chief minister, declared May 1 to be observed as Maharashtra Days on April 29. The incentive would be made available to thousands of owners of the National Common Mobility Card (Mumbai One), according to a statement from the CM’s office. Mumbai One passes for 45 or 60 visits will be eligible for the discount, it stated.
Shinde claimed that the action is a gift from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd. (MMMCL), which manages Metro Lines 2A and 7.
Metro 2A (yellow line) connects Dahisar E and DN Nagar in Andheri West, while line 7 (red line) goes between Andheri E and Dahisar E.
Senior residents must produce proof of age, and divyang people must submit acceptable documents, such as government-issued or medical certificates of handicap, in order to be eligible for the concession.
