STN: At the end of July, NCC Ltd. announced that it is the lowest bidder for the construction of the 1.7 km Bankot Creek Bridge on EPC mode in western Maharashtra.

This bridge, which will span the Savitri River, is set to connect Bankot in Ratnagiri District to Bagmandla in Raigad District. The Bankot Creek Bridge is part of the Maharashtra State Highway SH-4 (Revas – Reddi Coastal Highway) and is one of at least eight new bridges being developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to reduce travel times between towns along the Arabian Sea.

MSRDC invited bids for this project in March 2024, with an estimated cost of Rs. 272.88 crore and a construction timeline of three years. On July 2, the technical bids opened, followed by the financial bids on July 22, where NCC emerged as the lowest bidder.

Bid amounts were as follows:

The project involves the construction of the Bankot Creek Bridge between Kolmandla in Raigad District and Veshvi in Ratnagiri District along the Revas Reddi Coastal Highway. Despite NCC’s bid being 30.45% higher than MSRDC’s estimate, the project will likely proceed to negotiations.
