PM Modi Inaugurates Kochi Water Metro And Multiple Projects

Additionally, in the presence of Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, PM Narendra Modi laid the cornerstone for the Digital Science Park in Thiruvananthapuram along with several other projects. He also flagged off Kerala’s first Vande Bharat train from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod.

With the students onboard the Vande Bharat Express, PM Modi further drew them in.He also started the electrification of the railway section between Dindigul and Palani and Palakkad.

In its initial phase, the KWM service will be accessible from the High Court-Vypin and Vyttila-Kakkanad endpoints.As part of the Kochi water metro, battery-operated electric hybrid boats will connect ten islands with 38 ports and 78 electric boats in and around Kochi.

According to the chief minister of Kerala, travellers can travel by water metro from Vyttila to Kakkanad in 25 minutes and from High Court Terminal to Vypin Terminal in under 20 minutes without encountering any traffic.

A ticket for a boat ride must cost at least 20 rupees. Passes are available in weekly and monthly sizes for frequent travellers.

The cost of the Kochi water metro is Rs. 1,136.83 crore. The project is being sponsored by the state government and the German financial institution KfW.

The Kochi Water Metro is advertised as having air conditioning, being electrically operated, and being handicap accessible.

The Kochi water metro would be powered by lithium titanium spinel batteries. The water metro is marketed as being safe for those with disabilities, electrically operated, and environmentally friendly.
