Pune Metro Line 3 Erects 2000 Segments in Record Time of Nine Months

STN: Pune Metro Line 3, connecting Hinjewadi’s IT hub with Shivajinagar’s central business district, has made significant progress. The various phases of work are steadily advancing, resulting in the completion of the 2000th segment of the Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar metro line today.

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has undertaken the construction of Pune Metro Line 3 on the Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar route as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project. For its implementation, the Tata Group has created Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited as a Special Purpose Company (SPC).

Senior officials of Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited met with Maharashtra State Deputy Chief Minister Hon’ble Shri. Devendra Fadnavis to discuss several matters related to Pune Metro Line 3. The overall progress was reviewed during this meeting.

Alok Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer of Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited, stated that the Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar metro line aims to provide an easy, fast, and affordable public transport alternative to Pune’s citizens. In order to finish this project in the allotted amount of time, developers are putting up their entire effort. As a result, we have managed to construct two thousand segments in just nine months and erect 50% of total piers within one year of commencing work.

Additionally, he added, “We are aiming to improve the experience for those using the metro on the Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar line. We are using the think like a customer approach when designing the interiors of metro stations and trains.”

Pune Metro Line 3 has received great cooperation from Punekar citizens since its inception, and we are determined to continue providing excellent service.
