STN: Rahee Infratech Ltd. has emerged as the lowest bidder for the ballastless standard gauge track installation on Patna Metro Phase 1’s Priority Corridor. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) made the announcement on Monday. This contract is in addition to Rahee’s recent success in securing Nagpur Metro Phase 2’s track work contract T-02.
Details of Patna Metro Priority Corridor
The Priority Corridor of Patna Metro on Line-2 spans 6.107 km. It connects Malahi Pakri to New ISBT through five elevated stations: Malahi Pakri, Khemni Chak, Bhootnath, Zero Mile, and New ISBT. This section will be the first part of the project to become operational. Civil construction under Package PC-01 was awarded to NCC Ltd. in September 2020, with a completion timeline of 30 months.
Bidding Process for the Patna Metro Track Work Contract
DMRC invited bids for the track work in November 2024. The estimated cost was Rs. 24.89 crore, and the project timeline was 180 days. Technical bids were opened in December, with five companies participating. Pee Pee Mandal Projects was disqualified due to non-compliance with technical requirements.

Rahee Infratech’s bid of Rs. 23.97 crore was 3.67% lower than DMRC’s estimated cost. The contract is expected to be awarded in the coming weeks.
Scope of the Contract
DMRC’s scope for this contract includes the installation of ballastless tracks and the supply of buffer stops along the Malahi Pakri to New ISBT stretch of the Priority Corridor.

Delays and Expected Project Completion
The tender notice for Patna Metro’s rolling stock and signaling contract, which is JICA-financed, is still pending. This delay will impact the opening of the Priority Corridor. Unless DMRC leases trains or arranges for them from Delhi Metro, commercial operations may not begin before 2027.
