The launch marks another step in improving rail links for people who travel daily for work, education, and business. The event also saw the presence of the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary.

The new services will run on two routes. One train will operate on the Delhi Junction–Shamli–Delhi Junction route. The other will run on the Delhi Shahdara–Shamli–Delhi Shahdara route. Both routes connect key areas used by students, workers, farmers, and small traders.

During the launch, the Railway Minister said that the railways aims to improve passenger facilities across the country. He added that the two new trains will support people who depend on regular and low-cost travel.

The minister also shared updates on the ongoing redevelopment of Shamli railway station. The station is being upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The project cost is Rs 25 crore. The new station will have improved platforms, better waiting areas, and upgraded passenger amenities. This redevelopment meets a long-pending demand from people living in the Shamli and Baghpat region.

The minister spoke about the growth of the railway network in Uttar Pradesh since 2014. The state has added 5,272 km of new railway tracks. This expansion is equal to the total rail length of Switzerland. The entire railway network in the state is now fully electrified. The government has also built 1,460 flyovers and road underbridges to reduce traffic delays.

Uttar Pradesh now operates 34 Vande Bharat Express services and 26 Amrit Bharat Express services. These numbers show the rapid rise in the state’s train connectivity. The launch of the Delhi–Shamli MEMU Services adds to this progress and brings more travel options to passengers.

The new trains are expected to support the local economy. Better connectivity can help farmers send their produce to nearby markets. Students travelling for education will also find these services useful. Office-goers can now rely on more frequent services between Delhi and Shamli.
