STN: Vande Bharat Express Trains in Rajasthan

The Indian Railways started the first Vande Bharat Express train in Rajasthan on 12 April 2023, between Ajmer Junction and Delhi. This train connects India’s capital New Delhi and the Rajasthan capital Jaipur. The inaugural Vande Bharat train in Rajasthan travels a distance of 429 km. The duration of the train is 5 hours and 15 minutes, maintaining an average speed of 82 km/h. During its journey, the train makes stops at a total of 6 stations. Among these stations, three prominent stations – Alwar Junction, Jaipur Junction, and Ajmer Junction – are situated within the state of Rajasthan.

Second Vande Bharat Express Train for Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second Vande Bharat express train for Rajasthan on 7 July 2023. This train traverses a distance of 449 km in a time span of 6 hours and 10 minutes, achieving an average speed of 73 km/h. Operating for six days a week, the 12461/12462 Vande Bharat Express connects Jodhpur and Sabarmati (Ahmedabad). Comprising a total of 8 coaches, this express train includes 7 AC Chair Car coaches and 1 Executive Chair Car coach. This Vande Bharat train stops at Pali Marwar, Falna, Abhu Road, Palanpur Junction and Mahesana Junction between Jodhpur and Ahmedabad.

Third Vande Bharat Express Train for Rajasthan

The third Vande Bharat Express is going to start soon between Udaipur and Jaipur. This train will cover a distance of 430 km between two Rajasthan cities. This will be the first Vande Bharat Express which will have all stops in Rajasthan only. The authorities expect that the forthcoming third Vande Bharat Express in Rajasthan will schedule stops at Mavli Junction, Bhilwara, Ajmer Junction, and Phulera Junction as it traverses its route connecting Udaipur and Jaipur.

Fourth Vande Bharat Train for Rajasthan

The fourth Vande Bharat train will connect the Rajasthan Capital Jaipur and Chandigarh. This train will be the longest Vande Bharat Express train for Rajasthan which will cover a distance of 590 km. Currently, there is only one train that runs on a daily basis between Jaipur and Chandigarh which takes around 11 hours to complete its journey between these two stations.

As per the sources, this train will stop at Dausa, Alwar, Rewari, Rohtak, Jind Junction, Kaithal, Kurukshetra Junction and Ambala Cant Junction between Jaipur and Chandigarh. This Vande Bharat Express will connect two Indian states Rajasthan and Haryana and one Union Territory Chandigarh. It will have most of the stops in Haryana.

This train is scheduled to commence in the first week of October 2023. The North Indian Railway is working to start this Vande Bharat train soon.
