STN: The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has invited bids to select a Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) for the Lucknow Metro Phase 1B DDC Contract. This comes after the Union Cabinet approved the Phase 1B extension of the Lucknow Metro on 12 August 2025.
Phase 1B will add an 11.165 km corridor to the city’s metro network. The section will include both elevated and underground stretches, creating better connectivity across Lucknow.
Scope of Work under Lucknow Metro Phase 1B DDC Contract
The selected consultant will provide design services for civil, architectural, electrical & mechanical (E&M), and traction works. The corridor includes:
- 4.29 km elevated section with 5 stations: Thakurganj, Balaganj, Sarfarazganj, Musabagh, Vasant Kunj
- 6.88 km underground section with 7 stations: Charbagh, Gautam Buddha Marg, Aminabad, Pandeyganj, City Railway Station, Medical Chauraha, Chowk
- One car maintenance depot and stabling lines at Vasant Kunj
The total estimated cost of this phase is Rs 5,801 crore. Once completed, Lucknow will have a 34 km operational metro network.
