STN: The Karnataka government has shared a fresh update on the progress of metro work in Bengaluru. Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D K Shivakumar confirmed that Bangalore Metro Phase 2A will be ready for operations by December 2026.

The Bengaluru metro network is also expanding beyond Phase 2A and 2B.
At present, Bengaluru has an operational metro length of about 96.1 km. Officials expect this number to rise sharply in the coming years.
